Where do you live?

Providence, Rhode Island

How do you stay inspired?

I visit antique stores and take lots of photos! Anything vintage for inspiration with shapes, fonts, textures…. 

Do you work traditionally or digitally?

Traditionally and digitally in Adobe Illustrator…most of my work begins as ink drawings, then they are scanned and further developed in Illustrator.

What color combination are you most excited about right now?

Oh, there are so many! I love pinks + greens, shades of yellow, blues + browns.

What blog(s) do you read?

Design Sponge, Print and Pattern, LP Cover Lover, Speak Up.

Why do you like being an illustrator in 10 words or less?

Drawing for a living is amazing!

What illustration job would you love to get (your dream job)?

I would love to do any type of surface work: fabric, wallpaper, wrapping paper, stationery.

Where would you like to travel to next?

Sweden or the UK.

What’s your favorite TV show?

I have many! The Daily Show, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Lost, the West Wing.

What movie have you seen several times?

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

What is your favorite cheese?

Mmmm, I love cheese, all kinds. It made it rather difficult to be vegan (I was vegan for about 3 years, now I’m just a regular vegetarian).

Do you wear shoes when you do art?

Yes! I like shoes.

What do you listen to while you work?

At the moment, I mostly listen/watch TV shows but my husband and I have a huge vinyl music collection, mostly 60′s and 70′s rock. To narrow it down: I love early Brian Eno, Wire, the Kinks, the Stones, the Beatles, etc. But also Hall & Oates, Kiss, and Dr. Dre.

If you could eat only one food, what would it be?

Pasta.

How do you stay in shape?

I keep telling myself that I will go back to the gym someday.

How don’t you stay in shape?

By eating lots of cookies.

What is your current favorite font?

At the moment I am loving Gotham by Hoefler & Frere-Jones – it is so clean and has a great range of weights. I love how a font can look so different in bold vs. medium italic….I’m kind of a font nerd.

How do you take your coffee?

Sugar and soymilk.
