Illustrator and Photoshop

How do you stay inspired?

I go shopping in London and Brighton, and once a year I head to Tokyo and try and soak up as much creativity as I can!

Where do you buy your art supplies?

On the internet or in Clarkes in Brighton.

Do you work traditionally or digitally?

Digitally, although Sometimes I love to hand draw with pen and ink.

What color combination are you most excited about right now?

I’ve been using loads of vintaged tones mixed with acidic highlights. I love contrasts.

What blog(s) do you read?

Print and Pattern, Design Sponge and Lilla’s page of course.

Why do you like being an illustrator in 10 words or less?

I have such fun creating new characters!

If you weren’t an illustrator, what would you be?

I’d be running my own stationery gift shop.

What illustration job would you love to get (your dream job)?

Designing my own range of stationery and gift products akin to what Shinzi Katoh creates. That would be fantastic.

Name something you do in your spare time.

I love to spend Sundays looking round vintage shops, visiting Spitalfields market for crafty treats and where they sell the most amazing brownies I’ve ever eaten.

What’s the strangest work experience you’ve ever had?

Um, not sure…Maybe that is yet to come!

What are you reading now?

I’ve not read for a couple of months, any recommendations?

What recent book do you recommend for a good read?

Five Quarters of the Orange by Joanne Harris, it’s been out for ages but I love it.

Where would you like to travel to next?

Thailand and/or Venice.

What’s your favorite TV show?

I love Coronation St. and The Apprentice.

What movie have you seen several times?

Amelie…about 30 times.

Who is your favorite cartoon character?

Spongebob Squarepants

Who are you in “The Office”?

In the UK version, probably Dawn.

What is your favorite cheese?

Mozzarella

Do you wear shoes when you do art?

No, just slippers :)

What do you listen to while you work?

Belle and Sebastian, Rufus Wainwright, Soundtracks, absolutely anything really.

I don’t mind Jane.

If you could eat only one food, what would it be?

Cereal

How do you stay in shape?

I cycle and walk lots.

How don’t you stay in shape?

I lay on my sofa and by eating ridiculous amounts of chocolate.

Amandine and Cursive

I love a Caramel Soya Latte.
