What medium do you use?
gouache, pastels, computer

How do you stay inspired?
magazines, especially British Elle Decor and Living etc., exploring websites, blogs, books, going to fabric/trim shops, meeting and listening to interviews with other inspired people, listening to music, nature, and one of my favorite things, traveling.

Where do you buy your art supplies?
actually, I’m not sure. I just moved to Austin 2 months ago, so if anyone has any ideas let me know!

Do you work traditionally or digitally?

What color combination are you most excited about right now?
Red, with any color. Also, not in combination, but grass green and bright orange – two colors I’ve never been that drawn to but am now wanting to use like crazy!

design sponge, poppytalk, print&pattern bloesem, lotta jansdotter, lenacorwin, decor8, oh joy.

Why do you like being an illustrator in 10 words or less?
Illustrating allows me to use my voice. in bright colors.

If you weren’t an illustrator, what would you be?
I would be in Antartica studying the penguins.

What illustration job would you love to get (your dream job)?
Textiles! I would love to collaborate with a fashion designer on a clothing or accessory line – skirts, dresses, tops, handbags, sneakers. I love the work from IVANAhelsinki and Orla Kiely. Homewares are also very exciting to me. It would be wonderful to design for dinnerware, lampshades, bedding, pillows,….. and in support of my wanderlust, maybe design a travel line with luggage, tents, sleeping bags, passport holders, journals….

Name something you do in your spare time.
Rearrange the furniture.

What’s the strangest work experience you’ve ever had?
working on a rap video for a song called “who stole my last piece of chicken” was memorable.

What recent illustration job have you enjoyed doing?
Without being specific, I enjoy jobs that are a right fit. It’s always a fun experience when the art director likes my style and trusts me to translate it to their needs.
