My kids, shopping, my home, my collections, Instagram

Art 2 Art, Jackson’s, the occasional Dick Blick import

Both
What color combination are you most excited about right now?
I don’t seem to be able to stray too far from aqua with pink/watermelon/red but my fave colour is green so I’m using that more. I love pops of yellow too & I’m getting into grey.
What blog(s) do you read?
Instagram has taken over blog reading for me but often Googling or Pinterest will lead me to various design/ home / food/ styling/ stationery/ planning/ organisational focused blogs. I’m a little obsessed with organization & tiny homes so love to pinterest binge on anything related.
Why do you like being an illustrator in 10 words or less?
Working from home doing what I love = soul bliss.
If you weren’t an illustrator, what would you be?
Some sort of creative mummy entrepreneur.
What illustration job would you love to get (your dream job)?
Anthropologie +Flow +Uppercase +Childrens book +fabric/scrapbooking/stationery…. It’s all on my bucket list.
Name something you do in your spare time.
With 5 children there isn’t much of it but I love to sew, move furniture & take naps. Not at the same time. Ha!
What’s the strangest work experience you’ve ever had?
I used to have a second job at night as a market researcher, to help pay my mortgage when I was in my early 20’s. People love to complain but when asked to contribute an opinion, most don’t want to, some get abusive. It included anything from politics, technical medical research to breakfast cereals. Random & interesting.
What are you reading now?
I love to have lots of books on the go. Here’s a few in my stack…. The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo, Notes from a Blue Bike by Tsh Oxenreider, May I Have Your Attention Please by James Corden. I’ve been reading Wild Swans by Jung Chang for well over 10 years. I will finish it someday.
What recent book do you recommend for a good read?
I’m not really into fiction at this point of my life. But two recently finished books that had impact on me were Madeleine by Kate McCann & Revolution by Russell Brand.
Where would you like to travel to next?
Either Japan or USA/Canada are the most likely destinations to take the kids, but on my personal list I’d love to go to Iceland, Burano, Berlin & Prague.
What’s your favorite TV show?
3 way tie: Nashville, Gavin & Stacey, Friday Night Lights (thank-you Susan for FNL recommendation!)
What movie have you seen several times?
Many, I love film. Possibly the most watched ones are: Bridesmaids, This is 40, High Fidelity, Café de Flore, Blended, Sweet Home Alabama, the Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight Trilogy.

Sweet Potatoes or Lola from Charlie & Lola

It’s been years since I’ve seen it so wouldn’t have a clue.

Not in summer. Socks in winter.

Joseph Cornell. Love assemblage & collage with back story/buckets of research woven through pieces.

How do you stay in shape?
It’s a work in progress. Mostly I’m tired from being a mum to 5 young kids & all that goes along with that. I do drink a lot of water & sparkling water. I love fruit & veggies. Don’t drink alcohol, coffee or tea. I am trying to make better choices.
How don’t you stay in shape?
Work too much sitting down. Avoid breakfast, Don’t get enough sleep. This is starting to feel like confession.
What is your current favorite font?
Today I pick something fun like Transmogrifier

I don’t, ever, have never.
