What medium do you use?
Acrylic ink and Photoshop

How do you stay inspired?
I love design blogs and instagram and I go thrift shopping and hiking regularly. My little girl’s artwork is also incredibly inspiring.

Where do you buy your art supplies?
Right now I order online, but I love a good local art shop!

Do you work traditionally or digitally?
Both- I start all my pieces traditionally and then finish in Photoshop

What color combination are you most excited about right now?
So many!! But to choose just one for right now it would be dusty pinks and greys with pops of bright red and cobalt blue. Oh, but I also love tan, grey, and coral. Or maybe mustard, pink, and black. Ahhh! I can’t choose!

Why do you like being an illustrator in 10 words or less?
Bringing beauty into others’ lives.

If you weren’t an illustrator, what would you be?
Realistically- a florist. In my dreams- a color forecaster.

What illustration job would you love to get (your dream job)?
Any collection (fabric, wallpaper, décor, office, etc.). Airport mural.

Name something you do in your spare time.
I do crossfit in a garage, go thrifting, drink coffee.

What’s the strangest work experience you’ve ever had?
I worked in an old bookbindery that was owned by a hoarder.

What are you reading now?
Lots of YA novels- easy, fun, and quick reads!

What recent book do you recommend for a good read?
“I’ll Give You the Sun” by Jandy Nelson

Where would you like to travel to next?
Any Nordic country

What’s your favorite TV show? 
30 Rock

What movie have you seen several times?
I have a terrible memory for movies so I end up re-watching a lot of them. A few faves are: Love Actually, Newsies, Gaurdians of the Galaxy, The Royal Tenenbaums.

Bender on “Futurama”

Who are you in “The Office”?
80% Pam, 20% Dwight

What is your favorite cheese?
Cheap brie or expensive gouda.

If you could name a nail polish, what would you name it?
“Blushable” because I blush VERY easily.

Do you wear shoes when you do art?
No way! Slippers if it’s cold.

What do you listen to while you work?
Mostly I have old episodes of “The Office” or “30 Rock” or “Parks and Rec” on in the background.

I’ve always liked mine.

If you could eat only one food, what would it be?
Sushi or croissants

How do you stay in shape?
I walk a lot and do crossfit in a garage. If I didn’t live in the Midwest I would be rock climbing and paddling.

Beer and chocolate
