Where do you live?
In Berlin

Where have you lived?
Just here :) I‘ve been a lot in San Francisco but not living there

What medium do you use?
Watercolor, sometimes Gouache and Colored Pencils

How do you stay inspired?
I love getting inspiration over Instagram or Pinterest, but mostly also about being outside, or doing exercises in the morning or biking through the city or nature or going to a lake. I find breaks very important. I feel I need some distance during work to see better again I just take a walk. Also exhibitions are inspiring, and music is so inspiring to me too, love to dive in.

Where do you buy your art supplies?
I’m lucky to have the biggest art supply shop of Berlin just around the corner of my house, so there, at Modulor. Sure they don‘t have everything. So when I know a product, I also buy online, but I like to try it before.

Do you work traditionally or digitally?
Both. I draw traditionally and then I edit it digitally.

What color combination are you most excited about right now?
Indigo, cobalt, pink, orange, mint

What blog(s) do you read?
Not that many, I prefer books or magazines…reading online can make me restless pretty quick, I prefer paper. So…actually I can‘t tell you a favorite blog.

Why do you like being an illustrator in 10 words or less?
I love to discover the world over illustration and grow.

If you weren’t an illustrator, what would you be?
I guess I would become an illustrator then, or I would be a textile designer. When I was younger, I  thought about being an engineer for cars (this comes from my family roots).

What illustration job would you love to get (your dream job)?
I would love to illustrate for Flow Magazine. And books about inspiring people. Ok…two already;)

Name something you do in your spare time.
I love dancing, of all kinds. Electro in Berlin is fun. But also Balboa, love that, it’s a swing dance. And being in nature.

What are you reading now?
Wabi Sabi by Beth Kempton, as mindset book. Getting There, as story book.

What recent book do you recommend for a good read?
Mercè Rodoreda, Der Garten über dem Meer (I didn‘t find it in English, it might be The Garden over the Sea).

Where would you like to travel to next?
Portugal

What’s your favorite TV show?
Oh my… Masters of Sex I liked pretty much (it’s about pioneers of science of the human sexuality and living in the 1950s).

What movie have you seen several times?
Lost in Translation; Amelie

Who are you in “The Office”?
oh…i didn‘t see this…

What is your favorite cheese?
Goat cheese

If you could name a nail polish, what would you name it?
Make Your Dreams Happen

Do you wear shoes when you do art?
Nope! But in winter, warm socks for sure.

What do you listen to while you work?
Oh I love dreamy a bit melancholic music, it puts me in the creative mode. Like Agnes Obel, I usually put her on, when I know – ok, now I start. When I need energy finishing, it can be Electro too.

What artist are you reincarnated from?
I’m not sure yet…I will tell you as soon I know!

What’s your middle name?
Oh, I don’t have a middle name.

What do you wish your middle name was?
Elsa

If you could eat only one food, what would it be?
A good curry.

How do you stay in shape?
I do yoga every morning for 20 to 30 minutes, also I take care that I walk or bike enough.

How don’t you stay in shape?
Eating cake and chocolate. Mm, so good…!

What is your current favorite font?
My hand lettering thin sans serif one.

How do you take your coffee?
With a lot of oat or rice milk.

Whom would you like to meet?
Here’s a fun fact for you, and yes, I dare to just share this now: some months ago I answered this with Lilla Rogers! Whom else would I like to meet? …Hard to decide, there are so many inspiring people..from the inspiring women i’ve been reading about or I’ve been drawing, I would love to meet every single one of them… and right now, Damon Albarn came into my mind, I think he’s a great creative with all this different music and art projects.
