Lisa Congdon’s work at Chronicle
Chronicle writes on their blog:
“Chronicle Books is lucky to work with some of the most talented and original artists creating work today, and in this case some of the nicest. As a fan and friend of Lisa Congdon I was thrilled to hear we would be publishing her work. Lisa is a self-taught artist and illustrator who didn’t start making art until the age of 33. Her work is vibrant, fresh, and provides a unique look into the natural world.”

Must-have (or must-make) Ladies’ Tool Belts
Great stuff. Found on etsy. I made tool belts for the studio ladies for our NYC trade shows. One of these days I’ll blog them. Anyway, tool belts are a great way to sew something easy, super-useful, and fun to accessorize. I’ve put pompoms, buttons, ribbon, etc., on mine.

A lovely piece Diane Bigda did for Organic Beauty Magazine
Check out Diane’s:
-colors
-ability to created a setting that you want to be in
-the texture of the paint in the bath
-all the little details
…and this is why Diane gets so much work.
I always tell Diane, “I want to climb into your art and be there. And I want the clothes”. Ok, no clothes in this piece, but go look at her work and see the clothing.
Lisa Congdon’s booth at Renegade Craft Fair
Lisa writes:
“Hi Lilla,
I wanted to show you a photo of my Renegade Craft booth, photo attached (I shared a booth with my ceramicist friend, Diana Fayt). Chronicle Books was a sponsor at the event and did two separate signings with me where people came to get their products signed by the artist. The fair was super fun, and I had incredible sales and I think the exposure was really fantastic.
Cheers,
Lisa”

Personal piece by Janell Genovese
Thought you might like to see some of my paintings
These are painting in my studio that I’ve done over the years. The one on the blue wall, on the left, was done in 1994 when I was pregnant with my son. And the one on the right was done this year.
