See our workspace and read an interview with me

I am often asked how I choose who I am going to represent, what advice I have for artists starting out, and the coolest commission I’ve ever gotten (when I was a full-time illustrator). I answer these very questions and more in the latest edition of Where Women Create Magazine.
I was honored to be featured in this issue of Where Women Create, the gorgeous magazine that highlights creative women and their workspaces. I am very grateful to have such a huge Studio where I can work, enjoy meetings with my staff (seated on magenta velvet chairs!), and also make things. I hope you enjoy the article!

See Trina’s portfolio for Surtex–Sneak Peek

For us here at the Studio, one of the coolest parts about Surtex prep is enjoying receiving our artists’ stunningly gorgeous portfolios as they roll in over the next few weeks. We just got in Trina Dalziel’s portfolio (below, on right) and she included this magical nature journal she illustrated (on left). Come see them in person!

We’re looking for our next artist to represent!

Yes, it’s true! We’re back with our Global Talent Search, looking for our very next artist to represent. Registration for artists is now open on my teaching site, makeartthatsells.com
Here I was recently in Bermuda writing the 20-page Global Talent Search assignment loaded with images, information, inspiration, tips on color and lettering, and even a trend board.

Why should artists enter? Because if they win, these are the kinds of jobs we get our artists…
…and because we will fly the winner from anywhere in the world to my home/Studio in Boston for our Annual Artists and VIP Retreat. Here’s GTS winner Katie Vernon at the Retreat last year for our Speed Art Dating sessions with art directors.
Artist Marenthe, agent Susan McCabe and artist Clairice Gifford enjoying a moment in the Studio.
Here are VIPs Mitch Nash, co-founder of Blue Q; Janine Vangool, publisher of UPPERCASE; and Steven Wardlaw, Art Director of Blue Q hanging out at our 2017  Retreat. (They are also judges of our Global Talent Search.)
We’re just started putting together our judging panel and it’s already incredible!
Art directors: Interested in judging? Please reply to this email.

Happy Spring, unless you’re in the other hemisphere, in which case happy Autumn. Carolyn Gavin‘s bike with the flower basket magnet makes me want to get out my orange touring bike.

Here are some pretty products from you in gorgeous color palettes.
