My daughter is guest-blogger today.
My 13-year old shot this image of this thing at our local cafe, called Quebrada. I am very proud of her.
Wednesday: Pix from our NYC trip.
We stayed at the Ace Hotel, NYC, when we went to Surtex.
The fab cabinet by the front desk.
Susan Farrington by the odd, slightly freakish taxidermy birds at the front desk area. Susan felt she was home. She is a major collector of ephemera and old odd things. Broomfield is her second home.
Here it is, 8AM in the morning, but the hotel is perpetually 2AM. That is marble mosiac on the floor.
No kidding; these are the room snacks that you can buy.
Stuff in the fridge.
The shower. Really. A work of art.
Friday: Suzy Ultman, optimist
Jeremiah Ketner’s work
I am a fan. Thought you’d like to see this great work.
Some pictures from Helen’s trip to Odessa, where she grew up.
Helen sent us these photos and writes:
“Hi Lilla, Ashley, Susan and Julie!
I’m back (in body and in mind) and happy to be back!
The trip was interesting to say the least. I missed human honesty, hot water on demand, drinkable tap water, real mattress, not worrying about theft and being duped, fast internet connection, my computer, work and of course you ladies!”
Tomorrow: See Jenn Ski’s new work.
Matte’s Happy Owl Print shown in Interiors Magazine.
Martha’s Vineyard: Dress Lady at the Flea Market
I met this lovely lady at the Flea Market and bought the dress off her back. She makes these with vintage fabrics. Look how long it took me to blog this. About four months. Oh well.
Tomorrow: Trina’s gorgeous work on Aqualates
Just lots of pretty things spotted at Urban Outfitters recently.
I particularly like to shoot the prints and patterns and drawings, of course; I am an illustration rep. And an artist.
Tomorrow: Trina’s gorgeous colors and smooth vibe.
One of our favorite antiques shops.
Jack Speyer Antiques is a shop in Northampton, Massachusetts. I had to take these pictures for the blog, dear reader, so you could see all these amazing paintings. Pay Jack a visit when you’re in Western Mass.
Tomorrow: Allegra Agliardi’s lovely pieces for Castellini textiles
Vintage wallpaper
Vintage wallpaper I found on ebay. Enjoy. Sorry the quality is so poor.
Tomorrow: Another example of Diane’s masterful line & paint quality.
Suzy Ultman’s amazing home in the Boston Globe
Here’s what Jenn Ski says from her blog:
“Suzy’s home was just recently featured in The Boston Globe and I must say it looks amazing! Suzy and Adam Ultman began their home renovation a little over a year ago when they purchased an old rundown cottage in 2007. They wanted a place like their previous 1970s modern home in Portland, Oregon, so they hired architect Dan Hisel. With his help they preserved the exterior of this cottage home, but transformed the interior to accommodate the Ultmans’ love for modern architecture.”

Tomorrow: Janell Genovese’s innovative & quirky photo-collages
