Lilla painting in Spain

Here I’m painting a scene while we wait for lunch. Thanks to Julia for uploading all the Spain pictures to the blog for me!

Diane Bigda sent me beet seeds

Diane is a major serious gardener. I was honored that she sent me these beet seeds in this packet with her art gracing the cover.

Late summer flowers from my garden.

This is a great example of how long it can take me to blog photos from inside my camera. With jewelry, for example, you never know when I took the photos, but with my garden flowers, when snow is on the ground, I am so busted.
Enjoy the colors. Subtle shades in the hydrangeas.

Inspiration for color ideas.

Monday: Stop back to see a bunch of great ceramic and fabric items seen at Urban Outfitters. And the Obama doll.

My trip to the Berkshires Part III: Slightly disturbing portraits.

Quirky, a touch delightfully disturbing. Early American painting. I’m not fond of the term “primitive”. I think the design is exciting, the colors rich, and the expressiveness compelling. Are you inspired?

My trip to the Berkshires Part II: Alexander Calder’s toys at the Berkshire Museum.

Yes, dear reader: Can you believe what I stumbled upon? Alexander Calder’s toys that he created out of wood and paint. Please enjoy them.
Tomorrow: Some wonderful early American odd and quirky portraits.

My trip to the Berkshires Part I: Good old-fashioned museum design

Dear Readers,
I love this aesthetic. I love how everything is laid out like a mosaic. The evenly-spaced items, which just happen to be stuffed little birdies and rocks. Do you like this kind of thing? It’s like science fair projects of my childhood.
These were taken at the Berkshire Museum, Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
Tomorrow: Alexander Calder’s toys from the museum.
In a few days, I’m going to show you my visit to the FABULOUS Blue Q. Please check back.
