Suzy Ultman, optimist
Successful, fully-realized artists are essentially very optimistic folk. This is because to make art that is truly your own vision is an affirmation of life and talent and beauty.
Suzy Ultman sent me this email with the subject line, “happy friday”. She attaches this art and this quote. I rest my case.
“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Anne Frank
Bonnie’s crazy cool dogs
Dear Art Directors,
How about these for a card boxed-set license? They are fully available, brand-new pieces. Why does dog stuff need to be schmaltzy? Dog lovers can be cool. Dang, every woman I know owns I dog.

Monday: New work by Bonnie Dain for a Houston Real Estate Concern
Some pieces by Trina Dalziel
Really lovely drawings by Trina.
Trina has an amazing painting style, too.
Have you seen Trina’s painting work? It’s just a bit ahead of its time. I think this or next year will be her time for getting lots of jobs with this work. Do you agree?
Tomorrow: Trina Dalziel’s drawings
We asked Jon Cannell to do robot imagery for his banner for the Surtex booth.
I can’t wait to see this image printed out seven feet tall for our Surtex show booth. Don’t forget to visit us or make an appointment with us and see all 19 banners. The show is May 17 – 19 at the Javitz Center in NYC and this year it’s on the same floor as the Stationery Show. Just go all the way to your right and you’ll find the Surtex Show.
We’ll have about 25 portfolios to look at. I know you will not be disappointed.
See more of Jon’s work here.
What happens when you ask Carolyn Gavin to do designs for glass doors?
Pretty cool stuff! Kinda William Morris-ish. This is a commission we got for Carolyn from a door manufacturer.
New work from Jon Cannell
Jon just sent me these pieces that he completed for commissions for jobs. Great stuff.
