This week in the garden
I can’t think of anything to say. All I can do is show you these amazing colors. Coleus, zinnia, hydrangea. How about you do a color palette in these colors?
And here’s snapdragon, daylily. I usually cut some mint or basil in my arrangements for the fragrance.

Antiques shop in New Hampshire, Part I
I just got back from New Hampshire and wanted you to see this amazing stuff. I’ll show you more tomorrow. Do you love this stuff as much as I do? I could barely restrain myself from buying everything. Why am I showing you this? For inspiration.
Here’s a cute photo of Susy Pilgrim Waters
Here’s Susy in front of her poppy and her carrots that teNeues has licensed for all kinds of stationery products. Do you see her shirt? She silkscreens her own designs on them and sells them. We all wear them here and love them. Contact us to license these pieces.
Japan Town in Cambridge
I love seeing an aesthetic that contradicts American cultural norms. I took these at Japan Town in Cambridge, Ma.
This is a zany piece of ceramic.
This slightly disturbing cat is huge and works as the signage.
Seed pods
Can you guess what flower these seed pods are from? Peonies. Really. What amazing forms.
This is different
Mike emailed us this picture and says “Ladies, I thought you all would like to see this. Sometime last year I got an email that said something along the lines of ‘I like your work. I thought you might like this image.’ ”
Barbara Eigan vase
I collect Barbara Eigan vases. This one has a really chunky floral motif in bulge-y relief. My garden flowers are mint, peonies and sweet william.
Lula’s Pantry. Color inspiration
One of my favorite stylists is Brett of Lula’s Pantry, Rockport, Massachusetts. I want to show you his amazing color sense. This is a great way to get inspired for color for your artwork.
Look at this wall display. Ceridian, celadon, cobalt, French blue. Stunning. Doing warm and cool monochromes is a very thrilling thing to do.

Check out the amazing ocean view.
Give Brett a visit and tell him Lilla sent you.
