Janell’s placemats in Antibes, France
Janell writes:
“Lilla,
I was on vacation in the French Riviera. By far my favorite village was Antibes. In Antibes I was on my way to the Picasso museum when I saw a cool looking toy store. To my surprise I found my placemats for Crocodile Creek on display. Perfect for those messy French pastries!”
Janell’s illustrations for a children’s book
Janell writes:
Love is Hidden all Around is now available. This was a fun project. Each scene, ten in total, have examples of children enjoying the zoo, park, beach, etc. The first page has five hearts hidden in the illustration and the total hearts to find increases with each page. The final page has twenty hearts to find. This will be a fun challenge for the preschooler. It was a fun challenge for me to hide the hearts.”

Personal piece by Janell Genovese
New work by Janell Genovese. Felt alphabet.
This is such a cool piece by Janell. She made the things out of felt; definitely a fresh take on alphabets. This is available for license and I bet it’ll be snapped up at Surtex.
Janell is also going to work on a numbers piece.

A new piece for American Girl Magazine by Janell Genovese
I just love this piece. Janell paints kids so well. She has three little kids of her own. That helps.
Tomorrow: Allegra teaches art in her native Italy.
Janell’s very innovative new photo-collages
Janell writes:
“Hello, Lilla.
Happy Fall time! I had to break out the scarf today.
I have some new pieces I like. When I was at class at the studio I did an image of a panda riding a scooter that was done combining a photo of a felt character I sewed and digital illustration. I redid the panda and did two more. I have ideas for more. So let me know what you think and any ideas of what I can do with it.
Thanks,
Janell”
I love this new work by Janell, don’t you? Feel free to leave comments for Janell telling her what you think. What kinds of jobs do you see for her with this new style?
Tomorrow: See Sarajo’s new Hungarian Doll
