“Hi Lilla!
I wanted to let you know that I am the November 2009 featured illustrator in Art + Design, the premiere art and design print magazine in all of China! There is a two page article based on an interview a journalist did with me (in Chinese!) and several images!
I’ve attached a couple photos of the magazine spread.

Lisa Congdon’s work at Chronicle
Chronicle writes on their blog:
“Chronicle Books is lucky to work with some of the most talented and original artists creating work today, and in this case some of the nicest. As a fan and friend of Lisa Congdon I was thrilled to hear we would be publishing her work. Lisa is a self-taught artist and illustrator who didn’t start making art until the age of 33. Her work is vibrant, fresh, and provides a unique look into the natural world.”

Lisa Congdon’s booth at Renegade Craft Fair
Lisa writes:
“Hi Lilla,
I wanted to show you a photo of my Renegade Craft booth, photo attached (I shared a booth with my ceramicist friend, Diana Fayt). Chronicle Books was a sponsor at the event and did two separate signings with me where people came to get their products signed by the artist. The fair was super fun, and I had incredible sales and I think the exposure was really fantastic.
Cheers,
Lisa”

Lisa Congdon’s new promo card
One of the reasons I took Lisa on was because she sent me a card like this. Somehow her work reads so well in these rubik cube squares. What variety of work she has. Here’s how it works: really good artists have lots of styles and media because they have so much talent and a delicious greed to try everything. Then, over time, the styles often morph together to become one’s own distinctive style. This is what I anticipate for Lisa. What do you think? I’d like your thoughts on where you see her going. She’s got rich, strong paint; she’s got gentle line; she’s got painterly realism; she’s got geometric.
