Susy Pilgrim Waters’ fabulous annual craft event
A folk singer, hand-forged gold, Italian paper mistress, felted hats, Susy’s paintings — what more could you want in an event? This is a fantastic event curated by Susy. I’ll try to attend and then blog the pictures of the event to show you.
If you plan on attending, call Susy for her address which is in Newton, Massachusetts.
Tomorrow: Guess where Lilla is speaking in January. Find out tomorrow.
Jillian Phillips’ new work
Charming/hip is the name of the game for baby imagery.
I love the brown paperish background, and the instructive quality of the piece.
Tomorrow: Susy’s poster for her fabulous annual craft event.

Janell’s very innovative new photo-collages
Janell writes:
“Hello, Lilla.
Happy Fall time! I had to break out the scarf today.
I have some new pieces I like. When I was at class at the studio I did an image of a panda riding a scooter that was done combining a photo of a felt character I sewed and digital illustration. I redid the panda and did two more. I have ideas for more. So let me know what you think and any ideas of what I can do with it.
Thanks,
Janell”
I love this new work by Janell, don’t you? Feel free to leave comments for Janell telling her what you think. What kinds of jobs do you see for her with this new style?
Tomorrow: See Sarajo’s new Hungarian Doll
Suzy Ultman’s amazing home in the Boston Globe
Here’s what Jenn Ski says from her blog:
“Suzy’s home was just recently featured in The Boston Globe and I must say it looks amazing! Suzy and Adam Ultman began their home renovation a little over a year ago when they purchased an old rundown cottage in 2007. They wanted a place like their previous 1970s modern home in Portland, Oregon, so they hired architect Dan Hisel. With his help they preserved the exterior of this cottage home, but transformed the interior to accommodate the Ultmans’ love for modern architecture.”

Lisa DeJohn’s canvas art for sale at Urban Outfitters
Here’s what Urban has to say:
“Oh dear! You’ll fawn over this charming wall art from Massachusetts based artist and illustrator Lisa DeJohn, digitally transferred to canvas and stretched over a substantial wooden frame. The image wraps all the way around the frame, giving the piece depth and attracting interest from all angles. Comes ready to hang. Exclusive to Urban Outfitters. Imported. Wipe clean.”
Tomorrow: See Suzy Ultman’s amazing home as featured in the Boston Globe.
Linda is going to get a LOT of work from this piece.
Linda does the best accessories. Look at the shoes, the bags, the headbands. Of course the clothes are great. Linda lives in the hip town of Austin, Texas. She recently moved there after many years in New York City. I’ll miss seeing her in New York, but one day I hope to get out to Austin.
BTW, she did this for a book that Andrews/McMeel is going to put out.
