Sarajo’s “huck abstract(ed)ly.”

Sarajo writes:

“Hi,
I am one of a group of about 100 or so artists invited by Creative Director Mark Murphy to create an original work celebrating Cartoon Network’s 20th anniversary. (read more here.) The work will be featured in an exhibition, catalogue and a collectable mini zine will be distributed for free at Jett Gallery and the Murphy Comic-Con Booth ( Comic-Con 2012 San Diego No. 4833), limited to 4000 copies. Each invited artist represents distinct creative categories including: painting, sculpture, print making, typography, design and illustration and have been paired up with a Cartoon Network show or character. My “character” is Huckleberry Hound and the title of the piece is “huck abstract(ed)ly.”

Variations on vintage- Susy Pilgrim Waters’ lettering

Susy writes:
“hello. i thought it might be nice to show a little of the process i go through when i get a lettering request.
my dear friend angela liguori asked me to letter vintage glassine for her wee bags of glassine envelopes which are being sold at anthropolgie.

I love working with angela so when ever i get the chance i leap to it!”

In Angela’s words:
`I used susy’s calligraphy for the Vintage Glassine packs. I just launch them at the NY gift show in January and they did very well. All because of Susys’ calligraphy on the labels, I’m sure! I’m shipping them to several stores across the US, now. But, I also would like to mentioned that Susy did the calligraphy on a similar sets, vintage stamps, that where have been selling internationally and at Anthropologie“

Suzy Ultman creates a Critter Community

Suzy writes:

“Lilla,
Welcome to Critter Community. My latest Robert Kaufman fabric collection was inspired by my love of the forest, as a kid & still today. My childhood home backed up to the woods. The neighborhood was actually called “Park Forest”. I grew up playing under a canopy of trees: picking berries, hunting for lost treasure, chasing squirrels, spying on deer etc. (*See the photo below with me, the one in grass-green halter top, and my older sister hanging by “our” woods.)

Weather permitting, I still take weekly nature walks. I find the forest very relaxing and love watching it’s inhabitants scurry about. Enjoy! Suzy

Dabball: the world’s first interactive art gallery has launched!

Sarajo writes:

Hi all,
Some time ago I was invited to participate in a new interactive art gallery app called dabball. I’ve been meaning to tell you that dabball has launched! About dabball: “the world’s first interactive art gallery app that lets you browse, buy, and play games with works of art. Depending on how you look at it, “dabball” (pronounced like dabble) is an artfully addictive game that allows players to purchase featured art directly from their iPhone, iPad and iTouch. Or, it’s the world’s first digital art gallery that sells archival-quality artist prints by way of art-inspired dexterity games.” You can find a selection of my artwork and info here: Download the app here that has been completely redesigned with a streamlined interface and priced at $1.99. It’s now on sale for $0.99 through the holidays. Take 20% off all artist prints. . The cool thing is that people have been contacting me recently who found my work on Dabball!

Silvia writes,

“Hi, Lilla! I have been designing Back to school stationery for Dutch department stores HEMA for a few years now. The stationery collection is available in over 500 stores in Europe. It has diaries, notebooks, book wrapping paper, even USB sticks, a floral computer mouse and everything else you could need for when school starts.. I love working on it and it is always great to see the end results in the store. This is a small part of last year’s collection and of this year. I hope you like it!”
