Check out one of our newest artists, Åsa Gilland!

Åsa Gilland hails from Sweden but has lived in Indonesia for many years. I was delighted when she entered our Global Talent Search, and was one of the winners! I had had my eye on her for some time in my Make Art That Sells courses, and now I can proudly say that she is one of our newest represented artists.
With her delightful wit, fresh style, and ability to create wacky characters, I believe that she will be a big name in the children’s picture book market. Enjoy the show! See more of her work here. She’s booking quickly, as you might expect.

Asa writes: I’m rather obsessed about old photographs of people. This was inspired by a photo of a Lombok nobleman and his son from 1920, possibly of Balinese origin considering they were photographed with a dog. I love that the boy is wearing European-style suspenders under his embroidered short pants.

Asa writes: My dad was a mapmaker who’d spend summers outdoors detailing aerial photos. I’d pass time in the car, drawing creatures and folks entangled  in perplexing drama. I’m still pretty good at drawing in a moving car.

I hope you enjoyed the show! Want great art for you project? Don’t hesitate to contact us. We’d be delighted to assist you with any of your art needs. Get to know us here!
