The silk-painted tie I made for my hubby.

Here’s the finished tie I showed you that I started on recently. I’m fairly happy with it but I have more ideas for the next.. Plus, I want to make the brown line (which is a resist) much darker. it’s quite fun. Thank you to our own Julia Parker for modeling it for me. Neither of us have any idea whatsoever how to tie a tie.

  • The tie looks super neat! Very happy looking.
Every time me and my husband have to go to a wedding (or any shirt and tie type of occasion), there’s always mad internet search for tie techniques. It does not come naturally:)

  • Tying a tie is super easy if you dont use a mirror. I used to wear a big fat tie with grapes on it to work. You failed to mention you also sewed the tie from the silk. Now sewing… thats hard.

  • i love how this turned out! my husband said he’d like all the white areas (the background) to be the dark brown resist color, along with the darker outline you mentioned (had to have the testosteroni weigh in :) )

the colors are yummy, and so is the design… nice job!
